Moving Through Fear: Stepping In Anyway

Hi there,

After many years, I’ve decided to relaunch the Mindfully Thrive podcast. What was supposed to be a short break turned into a three-year hiatus. It’s like when you’re committed to going to the gym—you’re all in, going regularly—and then suddenly, something happens that makes you skip a week or two. That small break then becomes hard to come back from. The longer you stay away, the easier it is to find reasons not to go back, and before you know it, there’s a fear of not being able to do what you used to. So, you just stop entirely.

That’s exactly how my podcast ended. It started as a brief pause for family reasons, but instead of a few weeks, it stretched into years. But I’ve decided that it’s better to show up imperfectly than not to show up at all. Now, my focus is on bringing value and being of service to listeners as I rebuild, reconnect with guests, and refine my skills.

This season, I’m exploring authenticity and how creativity manifests for others. I’m currently immersed in the To Be Magnetic Authenticity Challenge and will share my personal journey on the podcast over the coming weeks. I’ve chosen to be raw and vulnerable, hoping it will bring me closer to a more authentic version of myself and foster meaningful conversations with listeners.

After pressing upload, though, a wave of fear hit me. I felt exposed, sharing just fifteen imperfect minutes of talking to the mic and letting my thoughts flow. I wondered if posting it did me a disservice because it was far from perfect.

But as always, support showed up just when I needed it. I listened to Lewis Howes’ School of Greatness episode with David Ghiyam, who spoke about fear. He explained that anything done from a place of lack or fear drains us energetically and that, often, a big breakthrough comes right after we resist the urge to say no out of fear. He said that fear often stems from wanting to take—validation, approval, or the need to be liked—whereas if we approach things with a giving mindset, we’re free from that fear. When we’re genuinely there to give to others, we can become a channel for something greater.

That’s my work now—to channel inner wisdom and have meaningful, flowing conversations on the podcast. I’m learning to get out of my head and share from a deeper place within myself, beyond what I know now.

It just takes practice…
