End of the Year: Time to Reflect and Dream Up My Ideal Life for 2025
As 2024 draws to a close, I find myself reflecting on the profound lessons it has taught me, lessons that have prepared me to craft my dream life as I move into 2025.
This year, I've learned:
I am always supported.
Forgiveness heals my own heart.
Death is not the end; we do not vanish into nothingness.
Facing hard challenges is necessary; my desires await on the other side.
I am a runner, not just physically, but in my resilience and persistence.
Negative thinking and conversations are habits that rob me of achieving my goals.
My experiences are direct reflections of my thoughts.
These insights have brought me to a powerful realization: I am exactly where I need to be to reach where I want to go. Instead of complaining or wishing for something different, I understand that my current situation is shaped by my thoughts and heightened by my awareness.
My Vision for 2025:
In 2025, I wish to become profoundly present in each moment, able to swiftly correct any thoughts of complaint, victimhood, worry, lack, guilt, shame, or blame. I aim to move beyond these limiting thoughts to a state of presence, filled with gratitude and appreciation for what is. It sounds straightforward, but I know the journey will require commitment.
A Lesson from Today's Mindfulness Class with Class 3:
Today's mindfulness session was as much a lesson for me as it was for my students. We delved into meta-cognition—thinking about our thoughts. Such awareness is crucial if we are to shift our negative biases. We practiced becoming profoundly silent, listening intently to our own thought processes.
Training the mind with exercises like the body scan teaches us to notice and manage our thoughts actively.
